Warm Materiality
Warm Materiality
In this thoughtfully reconfigured HDB flat, our window treatment solution was designed to support the home’s interplay of light, texture and spatial openness.
In the living area, we installed natural bamboo blinds, selected to align with the home’s warm, tonal palette and reinforce its continuous material language. Their organic texture introduces a subtle layer of light modulation while maintaining a calm, cohesive backdrop.
A key intervention sits between the dining area and workspace, where we introduced ripple fold suede-velvet curtains as a spatial divider. Installed on a curved ceiling-mounted track, this allows the workspace to remain concealed both in use and at rest, maintaining a calm and uninterrupted backdrop across the space. When drawn open, the curtains stack neatly to restore openness, supporting the home’s fluid spatial planning.
Within the workspace, natural wood ellip venetian blinds provide precise control across the desk area. The curved slat profile enhances the material expression of the timber, creating a more refined and considered finish.
In the bedroom, linen roman blinds create a softer, more restful environment through gentle light diffusion and privacy, while in the kitchen, natural blend roman blinds introduce controlled shading that sits comfortably within the home’s warm palette.
The result is a cohesive window treatment solution that balances concealment and openness, refines light quality, and integrates seamlessly with the home’s quiet, material-driven design language.
